Sept 19th
Our latest start, waking at 9am and out at 10:45. Rain off and on through late morning. started to clear and then more rain and snow swept in as we approached Suittle Pass. Snow on far side too.
Mud and sliding on the detour trail, slow going. Mineral ridge trail seemed longer than listed, 4 miles took 2 hours.
Nosgul and Wise Owl, Wicked, Salamander, Sisu and Raru, No Trace.
Suittle Pass, views limited to nearby peaks. No looks at Glacier peak at all. Afternoon rain and snow
camp early at hemlock campsite where the PCT meets the agnes creek trail alt route. Nosgul and wise owl already there and trying to make a fire, after a half bottle white gas they succeeded. The rest arrived and we all stayed, enjoying the fire and the company. The first time we have shared a campsite in Washington. Short day, only 14 miles. Stars out, not a cloud in the sky at 10pm.
Bear in the valley.
