Wednesday May 5 – Cinco de Mayo
Since we got in so late last night, we decided to take another “zero” for recovery as well as chores – laundry, checking hotmail, visiting the outfitters for a few small odds and ends, groceries and hanging out.
We are enjoying te hospitality of Anne and Barnaby Finch, friends of friends who live just outside of town, in a very warm and relaxing house. Many thanks to them and their warmth and grace. And our thanks to all people who support the hikers!!
Real coffee and newspapers…maybe the news only onceever two weeks is tolerable…
Ran into One Braid in town at lunch. We thought he was a day or two ahead of us, but he took some time off here to heal up his heels. Several other hikers in town, some from a day or two behind us who hitched in from the last highway crossing. Just never know who you will run into on the great hiker shuffle.
Had dinner and listened to Barnaby perform on keyboards (with Chuck Alvarez on guitar) some realy good Jazz and Blues at Cafe Aroma.
