Welcome

We are currently on another long distance hike, and the third leg of our "triple crown", the Continental Divide Trail (the "CDT"). Come along with us if you can - if not in person then by following our grand adventure via our "posts from the trail".  Check out our Flickr Photos, which we'll update periodically, and see it through our eyes!

Our Credo...

"Success: To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded!" ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Contacting Us on the CDT

How to Contact Us While We are on the CDT

To see maps, our itinerary and other details about our hike, and to follow our progress, visit our website www.walkingcarrot.com About once a week we will post a trip report, a summary of highlights for each section of our hike. To receive these updates go to the website and click on the “subscribe” button to “opt in” to our email list.  You can opt-out of your subscription at any time.  If you signed up to receive our reports in 2009 and did not unsubscribe, then you need to do nothing, you will begin to receive these as we post them.

We will check our email when we are able to find internet access (this is not guaranteed at every town stop.) Our time on the internet is uncertain and will be very limited, so do not expect a quick response. Pocketmail is no longer in business, so send messages to:

nowhere_man97@hotmail.com                        walkingcarrot@hotmail.com

If you need a (relatively) quick response, my cell phone is the best option.  We should be able to check messages about every week. The number is 208-946-9127.

We will have seven mail stops. Unless directed otherwise, address packages or correspondence as follows:

Phil Hough OR Deb Hunsicker (Use BOTH names – it makes collecting mail easier)
