At the Trail Head
Dad and Mom drove us out to the trailhead. Stashed water at Scissors crossing. Car camped at Lake Morena. Left a box with some of our food at the ranger station.
Among the other hikers who were there a few days before the kick off gathering were Ron Moak and Jersey Jim. Reunion time.
We met several other thru hikers from this year’s “class”, including Sasquatch and Pox and Meredith.
Stayed up till 10pm passing a bottle of booze from Sasquatch, drinking beer and generally just “bs-ing”.
A heavy dew started to dampen everything early and spotlights from Campo lit the night sky, border patrol activity no doubt.
